Public Invited to Informational Meeting Regarding the Rehabilitation of Putnam Bridge in Wethersfield and Glastonbury

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) will conduct a virtual public information meeting concerning the rehabilitation of the Putnam Bridge between Wethersfield and Glastonbury on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at 7:00 pm.

The virtual public information meeting is being held to provide the public and local community the opportunity to offer comments or ask questions regarding the proposed project. The meeting will take place on Zoom, and registration is required. A question and answer (Q&A) session will immediately follow the presentation, which will be recorded. For instructions on accessing the meeting and ways to provide comments and ask questions, please visit https://portal.ct.gov/DOTWethersfieldGlastonbury53-199.

"This project will maintain the Putnam Bridge's state of good repair and extend the service life for another 20 years, ensuring safe travel for all users," said Connecticut Department of Transportation Project Manager Tracey Brais. "We encourage the public to attend this meeting to share their feedback with the CTDOT project team to incorporate into the design."

The purpose of the project is to address the structural deficiencies of Bridge No. 00417, including repairing and replacing deficient structural members, ensuring the bridge continues to load rate appropriately for all design, legal, and permit vehicles, and improving the condition rating of all structural elements.

Right-of-way impacts associated with the proposed project are not anticipated.
