AAPI Heritage and Dragon Boat Festival

The City of Dallas, and the National Association of Asian American Professionals present the 1st Annual AAPI Heritage & Dragon Boat Festival. This family-friendly event features live performances, hands-on workshops, art, food, vendors, and watch or paddle along with the Dragon Boat race.

Join us as we celebrate the rich heritage and vibrant culture of the Asian American and Pacific Islander community. Immerse yourself in a day filled with cultural festivities, delicious cuisine, and the thrilling spectacle of Dragon Boat racing on the shimmering waters. It's a gathering where families and friends can come together to enjoy, learn, and create lasting memories.

2024-2025 TACA Arts Accelerator Now Open

The TACA Arts Accelerator is a new learning experience for small and emerging arts nonprofits working in Dallas County.

The 10-month, cohort-based program is designed to increase organizational capacity, teach new business and leadership skills, build collaborative connections, and create strategic plans for sustainable growth, preparing them for transformative change and building a foundation for long-term growth.

Community Artist Program (CAP) Application Now Open

The Community Artist Program (CAP) provides artist services to Dallas communities by ALAANA (African, Latinx, Asian, Arab, and Native American) and other individual artists and non-profit organizations to teach, perform, and exhibit at host facilities in neighborhoods around the City of Dallas. CAP cultivates collaborations between artists and communities.

This program helps promote cultural awareness, heightens citizen understanding of art forms, and celebrates the various traditions that contribute to the composition of this city.

ASIAN AMERICAN & PACIFIC ISLANDER HERITAGE MONTH

May is Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month and we are celebrating with a series of events hosted by the Library and many community partners. These groups have come together to deliver a series of events for our entire community to recognize and celebrate the culture and contributions of our AAPI community. Happy AAPI Month!
