Over a hundred animals removed from farm in Chenango County

On April 26, 2026, New York State Police, New York State Environmental Conservation, New York State Forest Rangers, New Berlin Police, Chenango County and Susquehanna SPCA as well as the Office of Emergency Management served a search warrant at properties located on Clark Lane and Pig Farm Lane in the town of New Berlin.

As a result, over two dozen animals were located deceased and an additional 107 neglected animals were removed. The animals included horses, swine, cattle, sheep, goats, a llama, dogs and cats.

The New York State Police also would like to thank the Town of New Berlin Highway Department and Chenango County Highway Department who assisted with traffic control so the animals could be removed safely.

This is an active on-going investigation.
