Dungarpur woman entrepreneur impresses PM with her zeal for spreading awareness among women

The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi interacted with beneficiaries of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra today via video conferencing. Thousands of beneficiaries of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra from across the country joined the event. The programme was also joined by Union Ministers, MPs, MLAs and local level representatives.

The Prime Minister interacted with Smt Mamta Dhindhore of Dungarpur Rajasthan who is self employed under Gramin Ajivika Mission and is attached to a self help group. The Prime Minister noted that she is well conversant in Gujarati too. She comes from a joint family of 5 and works with 7500 women in 150 groups. She creates awareness, provides training and help in getting loans for the members of the group.

She herself availed loans for boring and did vegetable farming and also rana vegetable shop. She is a job provider. Smt Mamata was informed that she fulfilled her dream of a pucca house by PM Awas Yojna. She informed the Prime Minister about the amount and smooth corruption free process of availing government assistance. She is at the forefront of making people aware about the Modi ki Guarantee ki gadi and she tells people that they should apply and benefit under the schemes is guaranteed.

PM Modi praised her awareness about the modern world and noted the video recording being done in the background by the women of her group and struck a chord with the women entrepreneurs present on the occasion. "I am overwhelmed that in a small village of Dungarpur my mothers and sisters are so happy and blessing me". The Prime MInister said. Shri Modi also praised her zeal to carry other women along. The Prime Minister said that for the last 9 years, the government is making an effort to empower women through self help groups. He reiterated the plan to create 2 crore Lakhpati Didis and emphasized the role of self help groups like hers in this project.
