PennDOT's Fayette County Maintenance Update -- Week of April 22, 2024

Uniontown, PA - PennsylvaniaDepartment of Transportation (PennDOT) Fayette County Maintenance Manager Jason L. Spangler has announced the following tentative work plan for the week of April 22, 2024. All maintenance activitiesare conducted depending on weather and operations.

Motorists can anticipate detours, flaggers, moving operations, and/or single-lane restrictions. Please drive with caution through all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the use of headlights. Safety is everyone's responsibility.

Boom mowing:

  • Route 166 (Republic Road) in German Township.

Bridge flushing:

  • Route 381 (Normalville Road) in Springfield Township.
  • Route 1054 (Indian Head Road) in Saltlick Township.
  • Route 1058 (County line Road) in Donegal Township.

Bridge replacement:

  • Route 1019 (Breakiron Road) in Bullskin Township.
    • Closure and detour in place.

Patching:

  • Route 1009 (Poplar Run Road) in Springfield Township.
  • Route 1051 (Breakneck Road) in Bullskin Township.
  • Route 1054 (Imel Road) in Saltlick Township.

Seal coat:

  • Route 1033 (Narrows Road) in Connellsville and Bullskin townships.
  • Route 1034 (Tanyard Hollow Road) in Bullskin Township.
  • Route 1035 (Bell View Road) in Bullskin Township.

Shoulder cutting:

  • Route 3002 (Gans Road) in Springhill Township.
  • Route 3005 (Gans Woodbridge Road) in Springhill Township.
  • Route 3009 (Outcrop Road) in Springhill Township.

Shoulder repair:

  • Route 1055 (Dunbar/Ohiopyle Road) in Dunbar Township.

Sign replacement:

  • Various routes countywide.

Litter crews will be picking litter on various routes throughout the county as weather and other activities permit.

Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced, and work orders will be addressed on various state routes throughout the county.

PennDOT has a toll-free number for residents to call to report any road maintenance concern. This number can also be utilized to report locations of dead deer on state highways. The number is 1-800-FIX ROAD (1-800-349-7623).

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
