Dear Customers,

The Department of Building Inspection (DBI) is taking another step forward in our ongoing efforts to streamline and modernize our operations with a new process and updated form for unissued building permit application extension and withdrawal requests.

All extension or withdrawal requests for unissued building permit applications are to be submitted to [email protected] using this form for review and potential approval by a DBI manager.

In-House Review permit application extensions and withdrawal requests will no longer be accepted in-person but Over-the-Counter (OTC) permit application extensions and withdrawal requests can be submitted via email or in-person.

Applicants for OTC extensions also need to schedule a meeting with the OTC manager to review and discuss the extension request.

Regardless of how the extension or withdrawal request is submitted, it will be reviewed in a digital format and the determination will be documented in an email to the applicant.

We've also added clear instructions to the extension and withdrawal form so you know exactly how to submit your request.
