No Public Hearing on May 13 for the Proposed Pesticide and Fertilizer Ordinance

The Pesticide and Fertilizer Regulation Ordinance, proposed by Falmouth's Conservation Commission, and scheduled for Public Hearing on May 13, has been withdrawn.

The Ordinance was introduced at the April 8 Town Council meeting and an amended version was reintroduced at the April 24 Town Council meeting. During these meetings, the Council heard from numerous residents, applicators, retailers, and experts. In addition, nearly 600 people completed an online survey indicating their support or opposition to the Ordinance and many others contacted the Council directly. The Council appreciates the outpouring of public input on this issue. After careful consideration and a desire to address some of the issues raised, the Ordinance has been withdrawn from the public hearing scheduled for May 13.

The Council anticipates considering a resolution at its meeting on May 29 that will indicate support for continued work on this Ordinance and Council consideration at a later date.
