Prudential extends its deepest sympathies for the passing of Congressman Donald Payne Jr. His unwavering representation and dedication to the city of Newark and its surrounding communities has been greatly appreciated by Prudential and will be profoundly missed. A relationship that began with his father years ago and continued through the congressman's service on the Newark City Council to the U.S. House of Representatives, Mr. Payne consistently demonstrated a genuine interest in the issues facing Prudential, just as he did for other Newark organizations and citizens.

Over the years, we have had the privilege of working closely with the congressman and his team on numerous public policy issues and Newark economic development issues, and we have always valued his commitment and advocacy on behalf of his constituents.

We are particularly proud of our association with the Payne International Development Fellowship, named after the congressman's late father and stewarded by Mr. Payne over the last decade. That partnership has been a testament to our shared commitment to education and the future leaders of Newark and our country.

Our deepest condolences go out to the Payne family and his dedicated staff in New Jersey and Washington, D.C. Mr. Payne's contributions have left an indelible mark on our city, and we are proud to have called ourselves a constituent over these many years.
