City of Saint John is successful in obtaining a Court Order against CUPE Local 486

The City of Saint John applied for and successfully obtained an Injunction Order by the Court on September 27, 2023. The Injunction Order is against CUPE Local 486, Michael Davidson, and persons unknown and was obtained in response to the strike activities that have been taking place on streets and other city locations.

The Order takes effect immediately and prevents picketing on streets, the obstruction of municipal vehicles from moving on streets, and any physical obstruction or blocking of the City or its employees from entering and exiting the Crane Mountain Landfill or any other locations where the City conducts its operations.

The Order willbetter enable the Cityto delivercritical services to taxpayers during the strike, includinggarbage collectionservices that have been delayed since the strike activities began.

The Order willremain in effect until a full hearing before the Courts is held on October 3, 2023.
