State Police Arrest Man for Felony Assault at Delaware Park Casino

Delaware State Police arrested 28-year-old Tavon White of Newark, Delaware, for a felony assault that occurred early Friday morning at Delaware Park Casino in Wilmington.

On April 19, 2024, at approximately 2:30 a.m., troopers responded to a report of a fight at Delaware Park Casino, located at 777 Delaware Park Boulevard in Wilmington. Upon arriving, troopers made contact with the victim, and the suspect, identified as Tavon White, who were no longer fighting. During the investigation, troopers discovered White got into an argument with the victim after losing a poker game. The argument escalated into a physical altercation after White began punching the victim in the face. White and the victim proceeded to fight, until they were separated after they knocked over a poker table. The victim, an adult man whose identity will not be disclosed, was transported to an area hospital for serious injuries.

White was not injured and was taken into custody without incident. He was transported to Troop 2, where he was charged with the crimes listed below, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11, and committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $10,500 cash bond.
