Community Enhancement Grant (CEG) Application to Open in October!

Community Enhancement Grant Overview

The Community Enhancement Grant (CEG) is administered by the City of Raleigh each year as a funding opportunity for local non-profits. Non-profits awarded funding through the CEG must provide public services to families and/or neighborhoods with low- to moderate-incomes.

Projects should address one or more of the priorities outlined in the City's 2021-2025 Consolidated Plan:

  • Increase access to affordable housing
  • Provide services that connect homeless persons with housing
  • Provide services that increase the self-sufficiency of persons with low- to moderate-incomes

Last year, five organizations were awarded funding through the Community Enhancement Grant.

Funding

This year, the City has $200,000 available through the Community Enhancement Grant. Non-profits may apply for awards ranging from $20,000 to $60,000.

Funding for this grant program comes from the Federal Government's Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). Because federal funds are used to support the CEG, agencies must have the capacity to meet federal requirements if awarded funding.

Application Information

The application will be shared via a Request for Proposals (RFP) in October 2023. Sign up for community development e-mail alerts to be notified when the RFP is shared!

The City has a Pre-application Assessment and FAQ tool to provide an understanding of the requirements associated with the Community Enhancement Grant and answer frequently asked questions. The Pre-application Assessment and FAQ tool is not the application.
