Velvet Ice Cream recalls Raspberry Fudge Cordial Ice Cream

September 14, 2021

Velvet Ice Cream is voluntarily recalling their Raspberry Fudge Cordial Ice Cream because it may contain undeclared peanuts due to a third-party manufacturer packaging error, according to a Department of Defense All Food and Drug Activity message sent Sept. 14.

Those with allergies or severe sensitivity to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the product.

The Defense Commissary Agency has publicized this recall to all its stores, said Richard Stith, Chief, Public Health Division, DeCA headquarters at Fort Lee, Virginia. Whenever a commissary has recalled or withdrawn products in its inventory, they are immediately removed from store shelves.

The following product is affected by this recall:

  • Velvet Ice Cream Raspberry Fudge Cordial, 56 ounces: UPC 0-7068210049-7 with carton codes of A2 19521 and 26-012

No illnesses have been reported. Customers should return this product to the commissary of purchase for a full refund.

Consumers with questions should contact Velvet Ice Cream at 1-800-589-5000, Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. EST.
