Bellin Health to Offer Boosters for Ages 5-11

CDC recommends children ages 5 to 11 receive a booster shot five months after initial vaccination series

Beginning Tuesday, May 31 Bellin Health will offer Pfizer BioNTech's COVID-19 booster shots to individuals ages 5 years and up at all Bellin vaccination locations. The move comes after the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently expanded the eligibility of booster doses to those ages 5 to 11. The CDC now recommends children ages 5 to 11 receive a booster shot five months after their initial Pfizer vaccination series.

"Vaccination continues to be the best way to minimize the spread of COVID-19," said Bellin Health Infectious Disease Specialist Dr. Michael Landrum. "It is important we increase the number of children who are protected."

Bellin Health administers COVID-19 vaccinations to patients and the public at all Bellin Health Primary Care clinic locations.
