CDC awards ARPA funding to expand public health workforce

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Friday awarded states and other jurisdictions $200 million in supplemental funding from the American Rescue Plan Act to hire and train disease intervention specialists to prevent and respond to COVID-19 and other infectious diseases. ARPA included more than $1 billion over five years to bolster the public health workforce.
