Happy Europe Day 2024!

Every year on 9 May, we celebrate Europe Day, which commemorates the signing of the 'Schuman Declaration' on 9 May 1950. The declaration was an ambitious plan to secure long-term peace in post-war Europe and is considered the beginning of what is now the EU.

If you are in Luxembourg, we invite you to participate in the Europe Day event, at the European Parliament, in which Eurostat is taking part with a stand shared with colleagues from the statistical office of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA). You can visit us between 12:00 CET and 18:00 CET.

Today, 9 May, the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg will be opened to the public, as will the European Parliament in Strasbourg on Saturday, 13 May.

For an overview of all events happening across the EU, visit the Europe Day webpage.
