SamTrans launches new EPX Express Bus

Beginning Monday, Feb. 12, SamTrans will launch a new express bus, route EPX. This new service will connect Belle Haven with East Palo Alto, Stanford Medicine's Redwood City campus, downtown Redwood City, San Francisco International Airport, San Bruno BART and select trips to downtown San Francisco.

Route EPX will offer Belle Haven residents faster, direct trips to select locations on the Peninsula without having to connect to Caltrain or SamTrans route ECR. This service will operate Monday to Friday, with all-day service every 45 minutes from about 5 a.m.-8 p.m. Fares are the same as regular SamTrans bus routes, for example adult fares are $2.50/$2.05 (Clipper).

In addition to SamTrans routes ECR, 281 and 296 in Menlo Park, be sure to check out their Ride Plus service. This service operates in a zone comprised of Belle Haven and East Palo Alto. Within the specified zone, Ride Plus offers on-demand trips point-to-point trips and connections to the 280, 281 or 296 for the same fares as SamTrans' normal buses.
