On Thursday, November 16, 2023, Chief Myron Demkiw will host the Chief's Gala in support of Victim Services Toronto.
The Chief's Gala is an annual fundraising celebration to support Victim Services Toronto, a volunteer organization that is essential to both victims and to the work of the Toronto Police Service. Since 2008, the Chief's Gala has raised over $4.5 million in support of Victim Services Toronto.
Special guests this year include Premier Doug Ford, Mayor Olivia Chow and Chair of the Toronto Police Services Board, Ann Morgan. Sportsnet Hockey Analyst, Nik Kypreos, is the Master of Ceremonies.
Doors open for ticketed guests and media to the Beanfield Centre at Exhibition Place at 6:00 p.m., with dinner to follow at 7:00 p.m.
Media availability and photo opportunities will take place between 6:45 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., in the North Lobby of the Beanfield Centre, as the guests enter the event ahead of dinner.
During this time, Chief Myron Demkiw and Executive Director Victim Services Toronto, Carly Kalish, will be available to speak to the media about the importance of supporting victims of crime and the partnership between Victim Services Toronto and the Toronto Police Service.
Members of the media may remain for the event in a designated area during the proceedings.
