Leeds Beckett University is among the best universities in the world to study sports-related subjects and hospitality according to a prestigious international ratings system.

Both subjects have made the top 100 in the 2024 QS World University Rankings by Subject for the third successive year. The rankings are released annually to help prospective students identify leading universities in their chosen subject.

Peter Mackreth, Dean of Carnegie School of Sport, said:

"We're delighted to be recognised within the top 100 institutions in the world for both sport related and hospitality studies once more. This global ranking reflects the reputation our staff and graduates have nationally and internationally as experts in their fields.

This year the QS intelligence unit analysed data from almost 5000 institutions, with 1559 being ranked across 55 narrow subject and 5 broad subject areas, creating over 19,100 entries in total. The methodology uses weighted indicators, including academic reputation and employer reputation, alongside measures related to research output and impact.
