"Our congressional delegation had the honor of beginning this mission by thanking and receiving briefings from U.S. military leaders at U.S. Africa Command and U.S. European Command," Chairman Neal said."The Ways and Means Committee proudly spearheaded the suspension of normal trading relations with Russia after its unprovoked invasion of Ukraine. We stand firm, alongside our NATO allies, in supporting Ukraine's brave fight against Putin's aggression, and while at EUCOM, we were updated on the current state of the battlefield."
The Chairman continued:"At AFRICOM, we discussed the importance of American leadership in partnering with countries in the continent to promote stability, security, and prosperity. We salute the service of our men and women in uniform and their families.""Over the course of the next few days, we look forward to deepening our connection with key trading partners and emphasizing our support for the World Trade Organization," Neal concluded."The WTO has made way for the growth of global commerce, but there's more to be done to strengthen environmental and labor standards while also economically empowering women. Looking ahead, we are committed to improving the multilateral trading system in a way that benefits all, betters the lives of workers, and raises standards for generations to come."
