Here’s your opportunity to help save three lives

In the heart of every community lies a lifeline that connects individuals in their most vulnerable moments: the blood supply. Alameda Health System's (AHS) Level 1 adult trauma center at its Highland Hospital serves as the frontline in providing critical care to individuals facing life-threatening injuries. Here every drop of blood can mean the difference between life and death.

According to the Red Cross, a single blood donation can save up to three lives and impact the lives of many more family members and loved ones. Blood donations support patients with cancer, premature babies, organ transplant recipients, trauma victims and more. The short time it takes to donate blood can mean a lifetime to a patient with a serious medical condition which is why AHS is hosting two blood drives in May.

The blood drives will take place at Alameda Hospital on Friday, May 3 and Tuesday, May 21 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Donors of all blood types are needed, especially those with types O negative, B negative and A negative.
