Mesa Invites Residents to Celebrate the All-America City Award at Mesa Public Library

Mesa's All-America City Experience is now on display at all three Mesa Public Library branches. Earlier this year, Mesa won the All-America City Award for the second time in history for youth programs that encourage engagement, educational attainment and service in our communities. The colorful exhibit, featuring creative designs and artwork by valley artist Jayarr Steiner, illustrates the City's journey to win the prestigious National Civic League award.

Residents can visit the three library locations to learn more about what it means to be an All-America City:

Main Library, 64 E. First St., features photos and excerpts from Mesa's 1979 and 2023 All-America City wins.

Red Mountain Branch, 635 N. Power Road, features a selfie station display representative of Mesa's All-America City community delegation and the theme "Creating Thriving Communities Through Youth Engagement."

Dobson Ranch Branch, 2425 S. Dobson Road, spotlights Mesa's highlighted youth programs.

There is also a Main Street storefront, located at 111 W. Main St, showcasing the physical display and the apparel used during the All-America City competition.

Mesa will celebrate the award on All-America City Day on Saturday, Jan. 27 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in downtown Mesa. The event will have a throwback hometown theme showcasing our community's diversity through youth performances, local entertainment, free fun and games and more. Under the umbrella of the Together Mesa diversity initiatives, the City recently presented Project Lit, Hacktivate, SPARC (Sports Program Activities Reuniting Communities), the Mayor Youth Committee, and Mesa College Promise to a panel of national judges. More than 50 youth, program managers and elected officials participated in the presentation. The last time Mesa won the All-America City Award was in 1979.
