Troopers investigate crash involving pedestrian in Ithaca (UPDATE...

Update:

The pedestrian is identified as Max Ross, age 19 of Lafayette, LA. He is in stable condition at Robert Packer Hospital.

On May 4, 2024, shortly after 1:30 a.m., New York State Police at Ithaca were dispatched to a pedestrian struck by a vehicle on Slaterville Road in the town of Ithaca.

The pedestrian was transported by LifeFlight to Robert Packer Hospital with serious injuries.

The operator of the vehicle, Blake A. Curtis, age 30, of Ithaca, NY, has been charged with the class "E" felony of Vehicular Assault and the misdemeanor of Driving While Intoxicated.

An investigation has revealed that the 19-year-old pedestrian is an Ithaca College student who was walking near the 1500 block of Slaterville Road when he was struck by the vehicle that was traveling eastbound. The driver of the vehicle immediately called 911.

This is an on-going investigation and further information will be released when it is available.
