Agents Render Aid to Injured Civilians

CALEXICO, Calif. - A U.S. Border Patrol agent assigned to the El Centro Sector provided aid in requesting medical assistance to, two civilians injured in an off-roading vehicle accident, Monday morning.

At approximately 9:25 a.m., a civilian flagged down an on-duty agent in the Imperial County Sand Dunes, desert area, east of the city of Calexico. The civilian notified the agent of an accident that occurred involving two individuals operating a Polaris Razor style off-road vehicle.

The agent responded and located the two individuals who had been injured riding in their off-road vehicle when it rolled over. The agent conducted welfare checks and observed the two individuals, a male who appeared to be dazed, and a female who appeared to have a broken left leg/ankle needed additional medical assistance. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) were requested, and EMS arrived at approximately 10:42 a.m., both individuals were transported to a local nearby hospital via ambulance.
