Local Pitch Hit & Run Winner Advance to National Finals

October 7, 2022 - Midland Parks and Recreation is pleased to announce that local Pitch Hit and Run champions Levi Lamb and Maggie Frazee have advanced to the MLB Pitch Hit and Run National Finals, which will be played during the World Series later this month.

On Saturday, May 7, Midland Parks and Recreation in partnership with the Great Lakes Loons hosted the City of Midland's annual MLB Pitch Hit and Run baseball/softball skills competition. Each participant competed in three events: pitching, hitting, and running. Certificates were awarded to the overall winner in each age group by gender. Levi Lamb was awarded the local winner in the 11/12 baseball group and Maggie Frazee was the local winner in the 13/14 age group. Both qualified for Regional Finals.

On Saturday, September 17, several of Midland's local winners, Elliot Mitus (10U), Levi Lamb (12U), Emma Frazee (12U), Mason Strayer (14U), Maggie Frazee (14U), and Avery Hornung (8U) competed at the Regional Finals in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Following this competition, Lamb and Maggie Frazee were notified that they had advanced to the Pitch Hit and Run National Finals for their respective age groups. The finals will be held during Game 2 of the 2022 World Series on Sunday, October 30.
