City Schedule for Memorial Day and Storm Debris Collection Information

DES MOINES, IOWA - Friday, May 24, 2024 - In observation of the Memorial Day holiday, Des Moines City Administration Buildings will be closed on Monday, May 27, and reopen to the public on Tuesday, May 28.

There will be no garbage, yard waste, or recycling collection on Monday, May 27. For the rest of the week (Tuesday through Saturday), collection will be delayed by one day for all residents.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Following additional storm damage, all Des Moines residents will receive curbside pickup for tree debris starting Tuesday, May 28. The drop-off option on Saturday, May 25, at 1601 Harriet Street will also be extended, running 7 a.m. - 2 p.m.
