Weekly Traffic Impact Report Week of October 14, 2021

State Route 132 West Freeway Expressway Phase 1 Project

Project Status

Traffic Impacts

  • Southbound 99 off ramp at Maze 132 (L Street) will have a full closure.
  • Southbound motorists will be asked to exit at the following "Central Modesto" exit.
  • Full 24 hour a day closure on the Kansas Avenue / Mercy Avenue intersection will be in effect until Friday, October 22nd.
  • The construction will require major excavation and construction in the middle of the intersection.
  • For both safety and efficiency, the intersection will be fully closed to all public traffic.
  • Detour signs will be provided. The following traffic detours will be in place:
  • The primary detour route around the full intersection closure will include Morse Road, Woodland Avenue, and Carpenter Avenue.
  • To further improve traffic circulation during the construction, Rosemore Avenue which has been closed South of Kansas Avenue since early 2020,
    will be open to traffic allowing greater access in the area.
  • Southbound lane closure on Carpenter Road from Elm Avenue to Kansas Avenue on Sunday night October 10, 2021 to Friday night October 15, 2021
    from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Monday, October 18, 2021, and Thursday, October 21, 2021, during the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m. each evening, Northbound State Route 99 will have a full closure and detour between Kansas Avenue and G Street. Crews will be removing falsework over State Route 99 to complete the new State Route 132 separation bridge that will span over State Route 99.
  • Northbound State Route 99 travelers will be directed to exit State Route 99 onto 6th Street via ramp exit 226 (G Street Central Modesto exit). Travelers will then be detoured north using City surface streets to the Northbound Kansas Avenue on-ramp. All freeway ramps within the freeway closure limits will be closed concurrently. Detour signs will be posted along the detour route for positive guidance during the closure.

New Jennings Water Quality Control Plant Entrance/Exit Project

Project Status

Work is in progress. Project is expected to be completed by the end of October 2021.

Traffic Impacts

Construction signs will be in place for the road closure:

  • Jennings Road has been re-opened to motorists.
  • Entrance/Exit road is now open. Partial road closures to be expected through the end of October, as needed.
  • Motorists to be advised of new traffic signal installed and is fully operational.

Motorists are advised to drive slowly with caution and use alternate routes when possible.

Scenic Drive Pavement Rehabilitation Phase 1 Project

Project Status

Work is in progress. Project is expected to be completed by the end of December 2021.

Traffic Impacts

Traffic control will be in place:

  • Scenic Drive from Lakewood Avenue to Claus Road

Motorists are advised to drive slowly with caution and use alternate routes when possible.

PG&E Project

Project Status

Work is in progress. Project is expected to be completed by end of November 2021.

Traffic Impacts

Construction area signs will be in place.

  • Lane shifts and lane closures will be in place mostly on east and west bound Woodland Avenue and Coldwell Avenue from Graphics Drive to Tully Road.
  • Some lane closures will be in place on 9th Street north and south bound sides.

Motorists are advised to drive slowly with caution and use alternate routes when possible.

PG&E Project

Project Status

Work is in progress. Project is expected to be completed by end of November 2021.

Traffic Impacts

Construction area signs will be in place.

  • Lane shifts and lane closures will be in place mostly on east and west bound Clevenger Drive from Carver Road to Tully Road.
  • Some lane closures will be in place on Carver Road and Tully Road north and south bound sides.

Motorists are advised to drive slowly with caution and use alternate routes when possible.

Crows Landing Road Pavement Rehabilitation

Project Status

Work will begin October 2021. Project is expected to be completed by March 2022.

Traffic Impacts

Traffic control will be in place:

  • Crows Landing Road from Pecos Avenue to Hatch Road

Motorists are advised to drive slowly with caution and use alternate routes when possible.
