A University of Plymouth academic described as a "beacon in the field of ocean engineering and renewable energy" has won a prestigious international award from the Society for Underwater Technology (SUT).
Describing the award as "a great honour" and paying tribute to everyone she's worked with over the years, the Professor said:
"Our sector is on the cusp of a really exciting future. We need to keep our enthusiasm and passion for this area, keep trying to advocate for it, and spread the word that we're not going to get to 2050's net zero targets without marine energy being in the mix."
As Professor of Ocean Engineering and Director of the
COAST Lab at the University of Plymouth, Deborah has been at the forefront of innovative research and transformative projects, shaping the future of sustainable energy solutions.
