The Vice-President of the National Assembly Rositsa Kirova opened the photo exhibition "Summer with the Colour of Lavender", dedicated to the Second International Lavender Festival in Chirpan. The exhibition contains photos of photographers Georgi Vasilev and Hristo Kracholov, who tell about the events and mood during the three-day festival at the end of June.

This year, me and my fellow MPs from this beautiful region were guests of the Second International Lavender Festival, Rositsa Kirova noted. There we saw the enthusiasm and desire with which the residents and the municipal leadership of Chirpan promote their city, there we saw how a wonderful Bulgarian region can be the centre of an event and lay the foundations of a tradition that I hope will persist in time, the Vice-President of Parliament said.

Rositsa Kirova stressed that Bulgaria is among the leading producers in the world of lavender and is the first largest producer in Europe. These are facts that few Bulgarians know, she noted and expressed hope that the Bulgarian lavender, like the Bulgarian rose, will become one of the symbols of our country.

The Mayor of Chirpan Ivaylo Kracholov thanked for the opportunity to promote the International Lavender Festival in Chirpan at the National Assembly. We are developing the concept of making tourism related to the festivals, culture, lifestyle and cuisine of our region, he pointed out and specified that the events of the three festival days in 2023 attracted more than 25,000 visitors.

Ivaylo Kracholov invited MPs and guests of the National Assembly to visit Chirpan during the festival, which in 2024 will be on 21, 22 and 23 June. The guests at the opening of the exhibition were greeted by 10-year-old Danaia with a song dedicated to the flowering lavender.
