According to the publication calendar, the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo published statistics for other financial institutions for March 2024, remittances for February 2024 and preliminary ones for March 2024.

Other financial intermediaries

The assets of other financial intermediaries at the end of March 2024 reached the value of 564.49 million euros, marking an increase of 9.26 million euros.

The structure of the assets of the microfinance sector is dominated by loans, which constitute 66.78% of the total assets. Gross loans of other financial intermediaries in March 2024 reached the value of 376.96 million euros, which represents an increase of 6.32 million euros compared to the previous period. According to the sectors, loans to households dominate with 60.36% of the total loans of the microfinance sector.

The value of new loans issued by other financial intermediaries in February 2024 was 38.13 million euros.

Insurance companies

The assets of insurance companies at the end of March 2024 reached the value of 314.83 million euros, which represents an increase of 2.11 million euros compared to the previous month.

The structure of assets in the insurance sector consists of the balance with commercial banks, which constitute 45.14%, securities and other assets 29.10% and reinsurance with 15.03% share.

Pension funds

The assets of pension funds at the end of March 2024 reached the value of 2.87 billion euros, which represents an increase of 74.14 million euros.

The structure of pension sector assets is dominated by equity securities, which constitute 75.26% of total assets.

Remittances

In February 2024, remittances reached the value of 85.58 million euros. Whereas, according to preliminary estimates, remittances for March 2024 were around 112.13 million euros, thus reaching the value for the first three months of 2024 at 284.07 million euros (preliminary). The largest flows during March were through NBFIs with 61.46%, through commercial banks with 15.20% and through other channels with 23.34%.
