Deputy Minister Nguyen Ba Hoan receives the Australian Ambassador to Vietnam

On March 7, at the Headquarters of the Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs, Deputy Minister Nguyen Ba Hoan had a meeting with Australian Ambassador to Vietnam Andrew John Lech Goledzinowski. Attending the meeting were representatives of Leaders of the Department of International Cooperation; Department of Gender Equality; Department of Overseas Labour.

On behalf of the leaders of the Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs, Deputy Minister Nguyen Ba Hoan congratulated the Ambassador on his new assignment in Vietnam and believed that in his new term, Mr. Andrew John Lech Goledzinowski would contribute to the development of the relationship between the two countries.
Sharing at the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Ba Hoan said: In recently, the cooperation relationship between Vietnam and Australia in general and between the Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs and the Australian Embassy to Vietnam, in particular, has continuously had important developments. The Australian side has cooperated, supported, and contributed to the Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs in fields related to human resource development and gender equality. Cooperation activities, and financial, technical support have been implemented, contributing to the improvement of policy institutions, capacity building, labour market expansion, promotion of gender equality, and prevention and response. with gender-based violence.
At the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Ba Hoan briefly informed the Ambassador some outstanding results in the cooperation between Vietnam and Australia. In the field of Gender Equality, through support from the Australian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Ministry of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs has implemented a number of projects with the results contributing to the improvement of institutions and policies on gender equality in general and promoting economic empowerment, empower women's voices in decision-making and ending violence against women and children in particular, such as Project "Interventions to End violence against women and children in Vietnam in the context of Covid-19"; End violence against women and children in Vietnam in the 2021-2025 period;...
Along with that, the fields related to vocational education and labour are also fields in which the two countries have cooperated and achieved remarkable results, namely: cooperation activities in training links between the Vocational schools of the two countries in order to build the capacity for the manager of vocational education managers and organize seminars on vocational education, exchange delegations, survey at the expert level and exchange high-level delegations, transfer training programs from Australia;…
Deputy Minister Nguyen Ba Hoan suggested that, in the coming time, the Australian Embassy will continue to be a bridge and support to promote projects that the two countries have been cooperating with related to the deployment and replication of high-quality training programs by Australian standards; Promote cooperation between vocational education institutions of the two countries; continue to support the pilot project to establish the Industry Skills Council in the field of Tourism - Hospitality, related to funding and project implementation techniques.
The Australian Ambassador expressed his pleasure and appreciated the information announced by the Deputy Minister, as well as the results of cooperation projects in the field of Labour - Invalids and Social Affairs.
Mr. Andrew John Lech Goledzinowski said, Australia is considered as one of the countries with the best vocational training in the world, so in this field, the country will be a great help to Vietnam as well as Vietnamese students studying and working in Australia.
Over the past time, Vietnamese workers who come to Australia to work under a working holiday VISA have contributed to the development of the Australian economy and believe that after returning to Vietnam, they will make a positive contribution to the development of the labour market in the home country.
Ambassador Andrew John Lech Goledzinowski affirmed that in his position, he will continue to support and share with Vietnam his experiences related to the prevention of human trafficking and human trafficking and social welfare, etc., contributing to the development of good cooperative relations between the two countries.
