A man was charged today with the 2017 murder of his uncle whose body has never been found, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office announced.
Daniel Cierzan (dob 2/21/96) was charged in case PA095020 with one count of murder. His arraignment was continued until September 25 in Department S of the Los Angeles Superior Court, San Fernando Branch.
Deputy District Attorney Tannaz Mokayef of the Major Crimes Division is prosecuting the case.
On or about Jan. 26, 2017, the defendant is accused of killing 58-year-old William Cierzan at the victim's house in Saugus. He allegedly disposed of his uncle's body, which has not been found.
If convicted as charged, the defendant faces a possible maximum sentence of 25 years to life in state prison.
The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Homicide Bureau.
