Wheat harvesting is in full swing in the Kakheti region.

Harvesting started in the middle of June and is currently underway. Mr. Tengiz Nasaridze, the Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, together with Mr. Giorgi Aladashvili, the State Representative in Kakheti Region, and Mr. Nikoloz Janiashvili, the Mayor of Dedoplistskaro Municipality, got acquainted with the wheat harvesting process in Shiraki Valley.

According to the Deputy Minister, about 300 state-owned and private combine harvesters are involved in the harvesting process. The harvesting and crop handling/ storing /selling process is proceeding smoothly. Several tens of thousands of tonnes of wheat have already been delivered.
According to Mr. Aladashvili, the state representative of the Kakheti region, 90 percent of the harvest has already been harvested in the Shiraki Valley.

Wheat growers stated during their meeting with the Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture that there are no delays in harvesting and storing their crops.

It should be mentioned that a coordination group has been created in the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture to support wheat farmers. Approximately 300 units of harvesting equipment have been mobilized by the state and the private sector.

The Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. Tengiz Nasaridze visited the grain storage facility in Dedoplistskaro municipality, where he got acquainted with the wheat delivery process. The warehouse, which belongs to wheat farmer Nugzar Alughishvili, collects 800 tonnes of wheat during the day. This year, the farm has already received around 20,000 tonnes of wheat.
