Search Advisory Committee Named for Dean of University Libraries

Provost and Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Fouad Abd-El-Khalick has appointed a search advisory committee to aid in the selection of the next dean of University Libraries.<_o3a_p>

Dean Nandita Mani, who was named deputy chancellor for institutional effectiveness in June, will continue to lead of the Libraries until the time a new dean is appointed.<_o3a_p>

Jackie Urla, dean of the Graduate School, and Tilman Wolf, deputy chancellor for operational and organizational strategies and senior vice provost for academic affairs, have been named co-chairs of the committee.<_o3a_p>

• Whitney Battle-Baptiste, professor of anthropology, director of W.E.B. Du Bois center<_o3a_p>
• Jennifer Chaput, data services librarian <_o3a_p>
• Ryan Clement, associate dean for data, digital strategies, & scholarly communication <_o3a_p>
• Katherine Freedman, history & graduate student services librarian <_o3a_p>
• Bella Rabin, Student Government Association<_o3a_p>
• Melanie Radik, science and engineering librarian <_o3a_p>
• Rebecca Reznik-Zellen, head, science and engineering library <_o3a_p>
• Sam Sharp, learning commons supervisor <_o3a_p>
• Jeremy Smith, moving image & sound archivist<_o3a_p>
• Gabe Stetson, coordinator, digital curriculum, reserve, and media <_o3a_p>
• Jaime Taylor, coordinator, discovery & resource management systems <_o3a_p>
• Caroline White, archives and manuscript librarian <_o3a_p>

The firm of Isaacson, Miller has been retained to support the search, which will launch this month. Finalist interviews and forums will take place late in the fall semester.<_o3a_p>
