Panama to host rescheduled Americas III event

Panama will host the Davis Cup by Rakuten Americas Group III event at the Estadio Nacional de Tenis in Panama City from 29 June to 3 July 2021.

The 13-nation event will feature three three-team pools and a fourth four-team pool. The winners of each pool will advance to a promotional play-off, with two spots in the 2022 World Group II Play-Offs on the line.

Joining the host nation will be Antigua & Barbuda, Bahamas, Bermuda, Costa Rica, Cuba, Guatemala, Honduras, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, St Lucia, Trinidad & Tobago and US Virgin Islands.

The Centro de Alto Rendimiento Fred Maduro will host the tie on its outdoor clay courts, one week after the city plays host to the Billie Jean King Cup by BNP Paribas Americas Group II event.

Panama finished eighth in the 11-nation event in 2019, which saw Jamaica, hosts Costa Rica and Puerto Rico book their berths in the World Group II Play-Offs in March 2020. All three nations fell to defeats at that level, to El Salvador, Bulgaria and Denmark respectively.
