Mark Robinson Once Again Attacks Teachers, Shares Plan to Gut Science & History From NC Public Elementary Schools

Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson is once again attacking North Carolina's teachers and public schools by touting his previous proposal to gut elementary schools of their science and social studies classes.

At a campaign rally, Robinson attacked the press for accurately reporting his previous support for gutting schools of their curriculum, yet went on to reaffirm his commitment to doing just that, saying, "You want to take science and history out of elementary school.Well you might as well take it out," while also labeling the state's teachers "so-called people" and "wrong headed."

Robinson has previously called teachers "wicked people" and used a segment of his memoir to rail against public education and outline the ways that he would weaken public schools if he were governor.

"Mark Robinson's constant attacks on teachers and public schools are wrong and dangerous for North Carolina," said DGA National Press Secretary Devon Cruz. "North Carolinians deserve a governor who will focus on investing in public schools, and supporting students, parents, and teachers. Robinson has made his position clear and no matter what he says, he won't be able to escape his harmful record."
