About 70 senior citizens donned their best western attire at the annual Senior Legacy Ball at Highland Hills Community Center recently.

Guests represented different community centers and enjoyed live entertainment, dancing, guest speakers, vendor booths, prizes and a catered dinner.

"The purpose of the Senior Legacy Ball is to honor and celebrate our seniors, especially those who ae participants of our Best Years Clubs across several community centers," said Eric Lopez, district superintendent in the City's Park & Recreation Department.

This is the second year for the Ball. Last year, the theme was black-and-white dress; this year's theme was western style.

"The seniors had a blast dancing, interacting with each other and breaking break together," Lopez said. "Seniors, staff and partners all enjoyed it. They play their role by dressing for the occasion and were honored, as they deserve to be."
