Parish of the Holy Eucharist to Hold Special Collection for Morning Star Recovery

FALMOUTH---A special collection will be held at weekend Masses in the Parish of the Holy Eucharist on August 13-14 to benefit Morning Star Recovery, a non-profit organization in Westbrook which helps people to recover from drug addiction through a 12-step program and to reconcile with God through Catholic sacraments and spirituality.

The collections are set for Masses at Holy Martyrs Church on 266 Foreside Road in Falmouth (Saturday at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 8:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., and 5:30 p.m.), Sacred Heart Church on 326 Main Street in Yarmouth (Saturday at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 8 a.m. and 11 a.m.), St. Gregory the Great Church on 24 N. Raymond Road in Gray (Saturday at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 8:30 a.m.), and St. Jude Church on 134 Main Street in Freeport (Sunday at 9:30 a.m.).

At Morning Star Recovery, participants live together in a recovery residence for men and are led through the process of recovery while discovering or rediscovering the Catholic faith at their own pace. Participants do not need to be Catholic, only open-minded. The goal of the organization is to provide a God-centered, strong, recovery atmosphere for residents to heal spiritually and properly discern where God is calling them to. Morning Star also works with those living outside of the recovery residence.
