China Minmetals is Awarded the "China Red Cross Humanitarian Medal"

Recently, the Red Cross Society of China awarded the "China Red Cross Humanitarian Medal" to China Minmetals Corporation, and the Red Cross Society of China Gansu Branch presented an honorary credential for donation to China Minmetals in recognition of its outstanding contributions in fulfilling social responsibilities and helping people tide over difficulties and rebuild their homes during the earthquake relief in Jishishan County, Gansu Province.

On December 18, 2023, a 6.2-magnitude earthquake struck Jishishan County, Linxia Prefecture, Gansu Province, resulting in over a hundred deaths and damage to some infrastructure such as water supply, electricity supply, transportation and communication facilities in both Gansu and Qinghai provinces. With regard to earthquake relief, the Party Group of China Minmetals thoroughly implemented the guiding principles in important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping, coordinated the mobilization of resources, and made arrangements for material donations, emergency rescue and other work. The company donated a total fund of more than RMB 12 million to the disaster-stricken areas in Gansu and Qinghai provinces, and donated board houses and living supplies worth more than RMB 6 million, providing support for earthquake relief and post-disaster reconstruction, and making its due contributions to ensure the safety of people's lives and property.

The "China Red Cross Humanitarian Medal" was signed and awarded by Comrade Chen Zhu, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the 13th National People's Congress and President of the Red Cross Society of China. It is the highest honor set by the Red Cross Society of China to recognize donors at home and abroad who have made significant contributions to humanitarian and public welfare undertakings. This year, a total of 77 donors have been awarded this honor.
