Big JestWinning The Rap Game UK is a mad feeling, I've been getting a crazy amount of love, and it feels like years of work are starting to pay off! But what's struck me is the way my final freestyle has connected with other people who can relate, it's even deeper than the music. That's the best feeling as a musician.- Big Jest

Croydon rapper Big Jest has been crowned winner of The Rap Game UK series four, taking home the £20,000 grand prize.

After a twist in this year's series which saw three of the six MCs (P3Lz, Mayo & Mwangi) eliminated before the final, the three finalists, Big Jest, Zoellz and JClarke left the penthouse for the last time. Once home, we get to find out more about where the contestants come from, the people and places that influence their music and watch them prepare their final bars to perform to the judges after recording with BBC 1Xtra legend, Kenny Allstar.

Back in London, the three finalists faced a grilling from a panel of industry heavyweights Julie Adenuga, Poet and ZeZe Millz, giving them some realities about the world of social media and music.

Finally, Krept, Konan and DJ Target alongside the final guest mentor of the series, DJ and presenter, Tiffany Calver, listen back to the finalist's Kenny Allstar recordings and give each artist feedback before crowing Big Jest as the winner.

After being announced the winner, Big Jest says: "Winning The Rap Game UK is a mad feeling, I've been getting a crazy amount of love, and it feels like years of work are starting to pay off! But what's struck me is the way my final freestyle has connected with other people who can relate, it's even deeper than the music. That's the best feeling as a musician. I love this music shit, I've made a lot of sacrifices in my life to keep this kind of dream alive. Man's pushed through some dark times, and obviously, man's always grateful - I never complain 'cause I know God's blessing me in a million ways."

Krept says: "Big Jest has had great consistency throughout the show," and this was followed by DJ Target stating "after hearing the [Big Jest's] freestyle, to us it was like the stars were aligned, and we used those exact words, it just felt like a destiny moment."

The Rap Game UK is a 6x60' series made by Naked Television (a Fremantle label) for BBC Three. It is commissioned by Fiona Campbell, Commissioning Director BBC Three; Patrick McMahon and Muslim Alim are the BBC Commissioners. Steve Earley and Gregor Lauder are Executive Producers.
