Istat has recently published the final 2023 figures for Italian woodworking technology export. Accounting for 70% of production, export closed with 2.6% growth, confirming that the industry in 2023, despite a much less satisfactory trend of orders compared to the previous years, could still achieve a positive result.
The United States remain the biggest buyer of Italian technology with 185 million euro, though decreasing compared to 2022; France and Germany follow, with 148 and 125 million euro respectively. Poland recorded strong growth with 86 million euro.
Import also increased in 2023 by 6.5 percent, corresponding to a value of 301 million euro; woodworking machinery from across the border mainly came from Germany, as usual, with a 33% increase in sales compared to 2022, for a total value of 156 million euro.
