WORKING VISIT OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA

TO MALAYSIA, 7 & 8 JUNE 2023

The President of the Republic of Indonesia, His Excellency Joko Widodo will undertake a Working Visit to Malaysia on 7 and 8 June 2023. The President will be accompanied by his spouse, Madam Iriana Joko Widodo, his Cabinet Ministers and senior officials of the Indonesian government.

The visit is very significant in the effort of both sides to strengthen further the longstanding and close relations between Malaysia and the Republic of Indonesia. During the visit, President Joko Widodo is scheduled to have a meeting with YAB Prime Minister, Dato' SeriAnwarIbrahimtoreviewtheprogressof cooperation and discuss outstanding bilateral issues.

The Prime Minister and the President are expected to also exchange views on regional and global issues including on the strengthening of ASEAN post 2025. In addition, both leaders will also witness the exchange of several agreements after they are signed by the representatives of the relevant ministry and agency.

President Joko Widodo is also scheduled to have an afternoon tea session with His MajestySeriPadukaBaginda the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-MustafaBillahShahIbniAlmarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta'in Billah at Istana Negara.

In 2022, Indonesia was Malaysia's 6th largest trading partner and second largest among ASEAN member states with total trade of RM130.14 billion (USD 29.55 billion), an increment of 36.5 percent compared from RM95.31 billion (USD 22.98 billion) in 2021.
