During the meetings, issues of increasing financial inclusion and financial literacy, developing the payment system and ensuring an effective system for protecting the rights of consumers of financial services were discussed as part of the participation of Central Bank specialists in the global working groups of the AFI.
In turn, the participants in the dialogue emphasized the importance of increasing financial inclusion as one of the factors in ensuring financial stability in the country.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed on further interaction between the Central Bank and the AFI through the chairmanship of the Regional Initiative for Eastern Europe and Central Asia (ECAPI), exchange of experience with the Alliance member countries and attracting technical assistance from the AFI.
For reference: The Central Bank has been a member of the AFI since 2018. As part of its membership in the AFI, the Central Bank of Uzbekistan has been the chairman of the Regional Initiative for Eastern Europe and Central Asia (ECAPI) since 2024, whose activities include promoting modern standards of financial inclusion in 7 countries of the region (Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Mongolia, Belarus, Tajikistan and North Macedonia).
