On April 30, 2024, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office filed gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated against Julie Haq and issued a warrant for her arrest.

On May 1, 2024, the suspect turned herself into the Long Beach Courthouse. Shehas been identified as Julie Haq, a 31-year-old resident of Long Beach.

Collision Investigation detectives are investigating a traffic collision which occurred on Feb. 20, 2024, which resulted in the death of a male adult.

On Feb. 20, 2024,at approximately 11:48 p.m., officers respondedto the intersectionof Anaheim Street and Atlantic Avenue regardingan injury traffic collision between two vehicles.

Upon arrival, officers found a male adult drivertrapped insidea 2012 Ford Focus. Long Beach Fire Department personnel responded and determined the driver deceased at the scene.

indicatesa 2012 Lexus IS250, was traveling northbound on Atlantic Avenue approaching Anaheim Street while a2012 Ford Focus was traveling eastboundonAnaheim Street approaching Atlantic Avenue.The Lexus broadsidedthe Ford in the middle of the intersection causing the Ford to lose control. The Ford struck a traffic signal light and an abandoned building on the northeastcorner of the intersection. The Lexus lost control and struck a bus bench on the northeast corner of the intersection.

The driver of the Lexus,a 31-year-old resident of Long Beach,remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation, and was transported to a local hospital for their non-life-threatening .

Speed, distracted driving and impaired driving are being investigated as potential factors in this collision.

The Los Angeles County Department of the Medical Examiner respondedto the scene, and the deceased driver's identity is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
