The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has published a report following an inspection of infection prevention and control (IPC) measures in some of the acute services provided by University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust.
The focused inspection took place in April and was carried out after inspectors identified the trust was experiencing higher than normal rates of hospital transmitted COVID-19 infections/
During the inspection, CQC found that the trust had a clear vision and strategy to continuously improve infection control practices. There were some examples of outstanding practice. Staff also felt respected, supported and valued. However, there were also a few areas for improvement which the trust should take which are outlined in the report.
As this was a focused inspection, the overall rating of good for the trust remains unchanged.
Full details of the inspection are given in the report published on our website.
