All Lanes Reopened on U.S. 202 (Dekalb Pike) in King of Prussia Following Pavement Repair

King of Prussia, PA - The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that all lanes have reopened on U.S. 202 (Dekalb Pike) between Henderson Road and Saulin Boulevard in Upper Merion Township, Montgomery County, following pavement repair.

This section of highway had been restricted since early Wednesday morning, April 17, following the discovery of a significant depression in the northbound travel lanes.

PennDOT's contractor excavated the depressed area; removed any soft or saturated soil which can cause sinkholes; backfilled the area to pavement level; installed a subbase and binder; and paved and restriped the highway before safely reopening to traffic.

A more comprehensive sinkhole remediation project on U.S. 202 (Dekalb Pike) in King of Prussia, and on Route 29 (Morehall Road) in East Whiteland Township, Chester County, is scheduled to be advertised for construction this summer.

Motorists can check conditions on major roadways by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras. 511PA is also available through a smartphone application for iPhone and Android devices, by calling 5-1-1, or by following regional X alerts.
