First Press Conference on Achievements of China’s Independent Knowledge System Held at RUC

On May 17, Renmin University of China (RUC), together with Peking University (PKU), Nankai University (NKU), Fudan University (FDU), and Wuhan University (WHU), held the first press conference on the achievements of China's independent knowledge system.

Over the past year, RUC has made steady progress to contribute to the construction of China's independent knowledge system. RUC published the Proposal for Constructing China's Independent Knowledge System, proposed the establishment of the University Alliance for the Construction of China's Independent Knowledge System, released relevant work plans, launched a series of forums and seminars, and launched journal columns to speed up the construction.

Lin Shangli, President of RUC, delivered a speech. He said that this press conference is the beginning of cooperation between universities to build academic brands, which could help us to make Chinese academic achievements have a wider impact nationwide and around the world. It not only requires the devotion of scholars in philosophy and social science in universities and scientific research institutions, but also requires good communication and in-depth cooperation with a wide range of media platforms.

Wang Yong from PKU introduced the development of the New Structural Economics and the Institute of New Structural Economics of PKU. Liu Chenyang from NKU introduced the achievements of the APEC Study Center of NKU. Wang Fan from FDU explained the theory of National Development Impetus. Xiao Yongping from WHU brought three textbooks about international law, including Public International Law (Third Edition), Private International Law, and International Economic Law (Second Edition). Yang Fengcheng and Li Yongqiang from RUC introduced two books, one is about the discussions on the discipline construction of the CPC history and party building, and the other is about outstanding leaders and pioneers in CPC history. Zheng Xinye from RUC introduced RUC's research results about China's poverty alleviation.

Wang Yi, Vice President of RUC, Yang Weiguo, Director of the News Center of RUC, and Lin Chen, Director of the Office of Research of RUC, attended the conference. Teachers, students, and journalists interacted with the guests on the spot.
