Mayor Giannettino Invites the Community to Remember and Honor at Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony

On Memorial Day, Americans honor the sacrifice of men and women who have given their lives in military service. The City of Auburn has a tradition of commemorating this day with a community parade followed by a ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park.

  • 11 am Parade Starts - this year's parade will take place on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, 2024. Parade lineup begins at 10:30am on Genesee Street, east of Fulton Street. Parade moves out promptly at 11:00am, traveling westward, and concludes at Veterans Memorial Park, 172 Genesee Street. Parade Participants will receive the Parade Orders via email a few days prior to the parade. For further information, please contact the Recreation office at 315-255-4737 or email.
  • 11:45 am - Noon (approximate) Memorial Day Ceremony begins immediately after the parade at Veterans Memorial Park, 172 Genesee Street. Color Guard by S K Post, wreath laying ceremony with Veterans organizations, music by Auburn Civic Band, Star Spangled Banner by Auburn Junior High School Orchestra.

The 2024 Memorial Day Parade participation registration deadline was Friday, May 17, 2024. The parade orders will be posted by the end of business on Friday, May 24, 2024.

On Saturday, May 25, 2024 from 3-5pm the Cayuga CIAO will be sponsoring a free concert at Market Street Park downtown with the 10th Mountain Division Jazz Band. Info here.
