“Historic Decision,” Minister Hasani Welcomes Decision in Favor of Kosovo’s Membership in the Council of Europe

Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, has reacted following the vote in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in favor of Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe.

Minister Hasani described the decision of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe as historic for Kosovo and its people.

"The recommendation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe for Kosovo's membership is a recognition of its progress and potential. It's a crucial step towards greater cooperation, stability, and prosperity for the people of Kosova. It's a testament to Kosova's dedication to European values" he said.

Tomorrow, on April 17th, the Parliamentary Assembly is expected to convey the recommendation to the Committee of Ministers for consideration.

Kosovo submitted its membership application to the Council of Europe on May 12, 2022.
