Traffic Impacts

Several Tempe streets will be closed or restricted and transit detoured BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER the Feb. 23 & 24 and March 1 & 2, 2024 Innings Festival which takes place over two consecutive Fridays and Saturdays at Tempe Beach Park. Traffic impacts will be in place Feb. 21 - 24 and Feb. 28 -March 2, 2024.

Transit Service Options

Avoid traffic and parking hassles by taking transit to and from downtown Tempe. Tempe has 13 local bus routes, six free Orbit circulators, the Streetcar and nine light rail stops. Passengers are encouraged to park at one of the following park-and-ride locations to ride light rail:

McClintock and Apache

Price and Apache

Passengers are encouraged to park at the following park-and-ride location to ride streetcar:

Street Closures and Restrictions

The following street restrictions and closures have been identified; however, others could be put in place to address public safety concerns that may occur during the events.

Feb. 21 from 8 a.m. until Feb. 24 at 11:59 p.m.

AND

Feb. 28 from 8 a.m. until March 2 at 11:59 p.m.

Westbound Rio Salado Parkway closed between Mill Avenue and Lakeside Drive.

Feb. 23 from 7 a.m. until Feb. 24 at 11:59 p.m.

AND

March 1 from 7 a.m. until March 2 at 11:59 p.m.

Eastbound Rio Salado Parkway closed between Ash and Mill avenues.

Westbound Rio Salado Parkway closed between Mill Avenue and Lakeside Drive.

Southbound Mill Avenue closed between Curry Road and Rio Salado Parkway.

Transit Impacts

The following impacts have been identified; however, others could be put in place to address public safety concerns that may occur during the events. Please note, buses traveling in downtown Tempe may experience delays due to traffic.

From start of service Feb. 21 to end of service Feb. 24

48 Southbound: Regular route on 5th St. to Ash Ave.; south on Ash Ave. to University Dr.; west on University Dr. to Priest Dr.; north on Priest Dr. to Rio Salado Pkwy.; west on Rio Salado Pkwy. to resume regular route.

62 Southbound: Regular route on 5th St to Ash Ave; south on Ash Ave to University Dr; west on University Dr to Hardy Dr; south on Hardy Dr; to resume regular route.

From start of service Feb. 23 to end of service Feb. 24

48 Northbound: Regular route on Rio Salado Pkwy. to Hardy Dr.; south on Hardy Dr. to University Dr.; east on University Dr. to Ash Ave.; north on Ash Ave. to 5th St.; east on 5th St. to resume regular route.

62 Northbound: Regular route north on Hardy Dr. to University Dr.; east on University Dr. to Ash Ave.; north on Ash Ave. to 5th St.; east on 5th St. to resume regular route.

From start of service Feb. 28 to end of service March 2

48 Southbound: Regular route on 5th St. to Ash Ave.; south on Ash Ave. to University Dr.; west on University Dr. to Priest Dr.; north on Priest Dr. to Rio Salado Pkwy.; west on Rio Salado Pkwy. to resume regular route.

62 Southbound: Regular route on 5th St to Ash Ave; south on Ash Ave to University Dr; west on University Dr to Hardy Dr; south on Hardy Dr; to resume regular route.

From start of service March 1 to end of service March 2

48 Northbound: Regular route on Rio Salado Pkwy. to Hardy Dr.; south on Hardy Dr. to University Dr.; east on University Dr. to Ash Ave.; north on Ash Ave. to 5th St.; east on 5th St. to resume regular route.

62 Northbound: Regular route north on Hardy Dr. to University Dr.; east on University Dr. to Ash Ave.; north on Ash Ave. to 5th St.; east on 5th St. to resume regular route.

Multi-Use Paths

February 21 noon to February 25, 7 a.m.
AND
February 28 noon to March 4, 7 a.m.

The multi-use path on the southern side of Tempe Town Lake will be closed Feb. 21-25 and Feb. 28-March 4. Bikers, walkers and other path users can detour via Rio Salado Parkway. View a detailed detour map here.

In addition, Tempe Beach Park, Tempe Arts Park and Neil G. Giuliano Park will be closed through March 7.
