Voting for Election of Prime Minister Takes Place

Pursuant to Article 140.5 of the law - NA Rules of Procedure, the Prime Minister is elected by roll-call vote and a majority of the total number of the deputies' votes.

As a result of voting, the parliament did not elect Nikol Pashinyan in the post of the Prime Minister with 76 abstained, 1 for and 1 against votes.

The NA Speaker Ararat Mirzoyan has informed that pursuant to Article 149.3 of the Constitution and Article 140.9 of the law - the RA NA Rules of Procedure, the National Assembly is dissolved by force of law which will be followed by the appointment of the new parliamentary election. The NA Speaker underlined that until the first sitting of the parliament of the new convocation, the parliament of this convocation would continue to function in the framework of its authorities.
